Bring the heat back to your home

I know with the days getting shorter and nights longer it gets difficult to get out of bed in the morning and you’re not the only one!  Usually on those summer and spring mornings I have no problem getting out of bed but these days my bed is to warm and comfy to contemplate getting up and getting ready for the day.

The first step is to be cosy warm getting out of bed so have your house coat and slippers at the ready.  If your still feeling the cool you can set a timer on your heater or reverse air conditioner to heat your living area making it an easier transition from bed to sofa.  Remember keep that thermostat between a warm 18 and 20degrees this coupled with your housecoat and slippers will feel nice a cozy.

Invest in heating that has a room thermostat that way when the room reaches the desired temperature the heating will turn its self-off saving you on your energy bills.  Once you have had your brekki jump in a quick shower, don’t be tempted to stay in the shower to heat up, instead have a quick shower then stand under a heat lamp it will cost you a fraction of the cost staying under the hot shower.

You can also buy a heated towel rail and put your towels on this to warm up, when you jump out the shower you can wrap yourself up in a warm towel before getting dressed.  Grab a hot drink after your shower if your need to make one to take with you to work it’ll heat you up from the inside out.

Dress in layers for the day, it might be cold in the morning but as soon as that warm mid-day sun hits you’ll find you will be working up a sweat.  Being able to de layer will ensure you maintain the perfect body temperature reducing your need to rely on your appliance at home or at work.

A great new APP that’s been released connects you to your home appliances allowing you to turn on your heating when you’re heading home, ensuring you don’t waste energy and come home to a warm and toasting room.

There are lots of changes you can make to your daily routine that will help you keep those energy bills in check during the cooler months. SESM have thousands of appliances you can not only compare prices on you can also compare the annual running cost ensuring you keep your daily running costs well withing your budget.
